What happens?
Your first session is a great opportunity for
you to decide if the therapist is the right one for you. Ask as many
questions as you like. When you are satisfied with what you
hear/see/feel you will be asked to make choices about further
sessions.
Counselling is traditionally done face to face.
Occasionally, depending on your circumstances, it may suit you better
to have a phone session or two.
Phone sessions are also
available at times when it is not practical to do face to face sessions. However
phone sessions are not recommended as an ongoing arrangement. Sessions
are conducted in blocks of 1 hour - if preferred you can also book 1, 2 or 3 hours per session
Benefits?
"Time heals all wounds" - Right? Not always !!
If a wound is not attended to properly when it first happens, it can
heal badly and come back to cause problems later on.
Also...
If something is troubling you, it's true, it may eventually right
itself - Counselling however, will tend to shorten the time to solve
the situation and teach you the awareness to not repeat it again.
Pricing:
$110 per hour
$140 per hour for couples
Testimonials:
"In the
last 6 months my life has changed forever, for the better. Huge thanks to
Frances for helping me unlock my door of consciousness & reach a higher
understanding of myself and my relationships with others."
JamieFrances,
you helped me out in the most trying time of my life, you were God sent. You
allowed me to express a lot of suppressed feelings that I desperately needed
someone to listen to. I learnt new techniques and was able to apply them in many
situations. You gave me new ideas and referred me to valuable resources.
Joanne
I would like to thank you for the coaching I received from
you recently. The issues you assisted me through were dealt with in a
wholistic and effective manner, whilst you gave me the support and
strategies to effect significant change. My thanks again for your
professional and caring attitude.
Michael"I feel
that I now have the 'right tools' to manage my life by myself - instead of
it being run by outside influences. Every session with you was a big step
into my new future - and on top of it you made me laugh - you have got such
a great sense of humour!! Thanks again for your energy, help and support -
all the best to you."

What Do Counsellors Do?
They listen attentively.
They explore options with you.
They do not tell you
what you have to do,
or suddenly make your life magically better;
YOU do that.
They teach you skills in
thinking and planning,
or learning more effectively.
They create a place for
you to feel what you need to feel in safety.
They may give you things
to do or practice in between sessions. They may highlight ways you are thinking which do not support you.
They acknowledge and support your thoughts and feelings.
They may assist you to
explore and better understand your past.
